What We Do
My Tax Sale Refund researches public county and court records across the country to locate surplus proceeds — money owed to former property owners after a tax deed or foreclosure sale, that was never claimed. Counties are required to hold these funds, but they do not always make an effort to notify the rightful owner.
These funds are held for a limited time. After that window closes, unclaimed money is typically absorbed by the county or state through a process called escheatment, and the original owner permanently loses the right to claim it.
Our work is simple: find the funds, find the rightful owner, and help recover what is legally theirs before the deadline passes.
